CURATED BY SG
Some homes feel lived-in in the best possible way—layered, storied, unhurried. That’s the feeling Sonal Gandhi has always chased. It’s there in a Nero Marquina marble coffee table from the 1970s, in the hand-carved rosewood that reminds her of her aunt’s home in New Orleans, and in the soft, imperfect surface of a once-forgotten Mastercraft armoire.
Curated by SG was born out of that instinct: to collect, to restore, to reimagine. Founded in 2020, the brand is a reflection of Sonal’s lifelong love for furniture—especially vintage pieces that hold a certain presence. Her collections bring together Midcentury, Asian, rustic European, and Postmodern influences—shaped not by trends, but by feeling.

Before launching Curated by SG, Sonal spent years immersed in other forms of design, including a chapter creating hand-beaded handbags and a background in classical Indian dance. Both gave her an appreciation for rhythm, restraint, and craftsmanship—a language that now translates into the way she sources, styles, and sees furniture.
She finds pieces in all kinds of ways—estate sales, private sellers, calls from friends and strangers alike. Sometimes they find her. But what unites every piece is a certain quiet magnetism: a curved arm, a worn edge, the weight of something made to last.
Her approach is both intuitive and environmental. By restoring and repurposing what already exists, Sonal honors the materials and makers of the past—offering an alternative to fast furniture and the disposability of design cycles. Every piece she sources is meant to be lived with, not just looked at.
The world of Curated by SG is about depth over decoration. Soul over surface. It’s a collection for those who believe the most beautiful homes aren’t built overnight, but gathered slowly—one meaningful piece at a time.
