1930s Japanese Champleve Brass Vase

Champleve is an enameling technique that enamels raised surfaces on a cast brass object and then fired in a kiln. Not to be confused with cloisonné that soldiers wires in a design to a flat surface and then fills those areas with enamel. Made in Japan.
